Arizona Supreme Court taps AI avatars to make the judicial system more publicly accessible

“The AI-generated avatars were the most efficient way to produce videos and get the information out, said court spokesperson Alberto Rodriguez. Producing a video usually can take hours, he said, but an AI-generated video is ready in about 30 minutes. The court might introduce more AI-generated reporters in the future, Rodriguez said in a news release.”

Daniel and Victoria are being shown in the courtroom with disclaimers - which is something I think is really needed to be clear for people. seems like a good initiative that saves time

What do yall think?

I think it’s a VERY practical move for efficiency, but it also sets an interesting precedent. Right now, it’s just for delivering rulings, but as AI gets more advanced I predict it’ll get even more integrated and do more tasks (purely administrative right now)

I don’t think we’re at that point where it’ll handle legal research and all that
